ASACP Returns to FOSI European Forum

LOS ANGELES (May 20, 2014) — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is delighted to announce its participation in the upcoming FOSI European Forum.

Slated for May 22nd at Microsoft’s Paris office, the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) 2014 European Forum is entitled “Creating a Better Internet,” and according to FOSI will focus on the European Union’s commitment to build not just a safer Internet but a better Internet for children and teenagers. Drawing on those creating innovative and educational content for kids as well as those in industry, law enforcement and government who are working to ensure that children have safe and productive online experiences, the event will highlight the best of the groundbreaking work and thinking that is currently happening in this space from Europe and the UK, as well as to share experiences from the U.S. and from around the world.

ASACP’s Director of European Outreach, Vince Charlton, will represent ASACP at the event, using the opportunity to educate relevant stakeholders about the association’s mission to keep children out of and away from adult entertainment.

“ASACP is delighted to have been invited to attend the annual FOSI European conference,” Charlton stated. “The association supports and shares FOSI’s core objectives for protecting children in the digital age, through education and parental involvement.”

“The Paris summit is an ideal location to further develop relationships and promote ASACP and its ideals to others working within the child protection arena,” Charlton adds, highlighting the importance of kindred groups uniting to further a common goal.

“FOSI presents a great opportunity to learn the latest about online privacy and safety today,” ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning offered. “Bringing together a range of stakeholders to discuss these critical issues helps bridge the gap between content consumers and publishers and shows that the adult entertainment industry is a vital partner for online child protection.”
