LOS ANGELES (August 24, 2020) — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce its participation in the virtual edition of the 2020 XBIZ Miami industry gathering.
Coping with the COVID lockdown, the annual XBIZ Miami industry event enters the virtual realm for 2020, taking place from August 24-27 with online versions of its expert seminar series, popular networking sessions and special socials. Crowned by the XBIZ Cam Awards honoring the best in camming and clip artistry, XBIZ Miami persists despite the global pandemic.
ASACP’s Executive Director Tim Henning will be attending the event.
“ASACP has had a presence at the various XBIZ events around the world since their inception,” Henning said. “The Miami event is so popular with industry execs and talent alike that not even a pandemic can stop it from happening!”
“All XBIZ events attract an elite audience of stakeholders allowing ASACP to reach numerous decision-makers who can make a real difference in protecting children online. These events are also vital to our fundraising, membership and sponsorship efforts,” Henning explained. “While nothing can replace the relationship-building of face-to-face discussions, virtual events may fill the gap while we wait for travel rights to be restored, so we look forward to this next-generation conference.”
The support that ASACP receives from its sponsors powers its 24-year-long record of success and enables its range of free child protection resources, including market-specific Best Practices and a Code of Ethics for online businesses, app publishers and operators of age-restricted websites.
Among its most notable achievements, ASACP’s RTA (Restricted To Adults) meta labeling system helps parents prevent their children’s access to countless adult-oriented webpages and mobile apps and is offered to all site and app publishers free of charge, as are all ASACP services; including its CP Reporting Tipline, which has received and processed well over 1 million user reports to date, thanks to the generosity of the nonprofit association’s sponsors and members.
“XBIZ’s support of the association and bringing of its events to the virtual world help ASACP carry out its mission to protect children online,” Henning concluded. “I have high hopes that what may be the ‘new normal’ in industry gatherings will help our responsible partners keep children out of and away from age-inappropriate material.”
